Kebony® Nature

Kebony® Nature

Premium wood with high resistance and environmentally friendly processing

Kebony® is a very high-quality real wood that is particularly impressive due to its durability and resistance. Even after many years, the high-quality wood requires no additional treatment apart from normal cleaning.

In an environmentally friendly and patented process, Kebony® turns soft wood into a hard, resistant and sustainable alternative to hardwood from tropical parts of the world.

Highest quality for a wood application with a long service life

Our Kebony® Nature:
environmentally friendly, resistant and dimensionally stable

Kebony® technology is an environmentally friendly, patented process from Norway. Treatment with a natural, non-toxic liquid strengthens the cell structure of softwoods.

The result is a premium wood that offers the only sustainable alternative to tropical hardwoods. The treated wood takes on a dark brown colour and changes naturally over time to a kind of silver-grey.

The wood Kebony® Nature:
Properties and advantages

Easy to care for and robust

Treatment with Kebony® technology makes the wood more stable, harder and increases its durability. The liquid used in the process is made from agricultural by-products.

Kebony® is therefore an extremely environmentally friendly choice for your favourite application: on the one hand, it is made durable by a liquid made from organic waste and, on the other hand, its durability does not require complicated and expensive maintenance.

Aesthetic and durable

Kebony® is popular for outdoor use due to its robustness and durability. Thanks to its modified structure, the wood is also water-repellent and resistant to fungi and other pests.

After a few years, UV radiation and weathering give it a natural silver-grey patina. This gives the wood a noble aesthetic through a natural development process.

Carbonised woods

Charred black, three-dimensional look, strong character structure

Using our traditional, vertical deep-charring process, our woods are carbonised with pure flame according to the Japanese Yakisugi method, resulting in extremely resistant, durable wood products with a unique, black charred surface structure which, thanks to its exclusive character, is also compared to alligator skin, silk wood or leather.

Refined woods

Traditionally carbonised, brushed and carefully finished by hand.

If you opt for the refined style, the already carbonised wood is then carefully brushed by hand and refined using a special process so that the grain and structure are revealed under the layer of carbon. Depending on the processing and type of wood, our wood finishing creates an exclusive colour look: from elegant silver-grey to an ingenious reclaimed wood look in rustic brown tones.
